Medieval tithe barn uncovered

Further soil stripping next to the manor house has uncovered a huge tithe barn 26metres long by 7 metres wide. These are the foundations of a barn we know was in existence in the 14th century, which was taken down and relocated (probably to the abbey site) later in the century. We have also uncovered a large cobbled area probably a farm yard plus surrounding buildings.
